Official Letter of Invitation to Participate in the 6th Lipid School
Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the 6th Lipid School, held under the auspices of the Croatian Atherosclerosis Society of the Croatian Medical Association, it is our great pleasure to extend this official letter of invitation to participate in the 6th Lipid School. This premier international scientific meeting will take place from October 15th to 18th, 2026, at the Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences (MedILS) in Split, Croatia.
The Lipid School serves as a leading regional educational platform bringing together prominent international and national experts in the fields of lipidology, cardiology, endocrinology, pediatrics, genetics, and clinical nutrition.
To encourage the professional advancement of outstanding young medical doctors and researchers, the Organizing Committee has fully covered the registration fees, accommodation in Split, and full participation in the official scientific and social programs of the School for all nominated participants.
Thematic Units and Scientific Program
The scientific program of the 6th Lipid School encompasses ten key thematic units grounded in the latest evidence-based medicine and clinical guidelines:
- Familial Hypercholesterolemia Across the Lifespan: Early detection, universal screening, pediatric FH, risk stratification, and management of HeFH and HoFH.
- Pediatric Lipidology: Dyslipidemias in childhood, clinical phenotypes, diagnostic pitfalls, and long-term follow-up.
- Severe and Rare Inherited Dyslipidemias: FCS, dysbetalipoproteinemia, lysosomal acid lipase deficiency, cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis, and phytosterolemia.
- Triglycerides, Remnant Cholesterol, and Residual Risk: Differential diagnosis of severe hypertriglyceridemia, atherogenic remnant lipoproteins, and modern therapeutic strategies.
- Lipoprotein(a) and Cardiovascular Risk: Screening, risk assessment, laboratory diagnostics, and emerging therapies.
- Obesity, Diabetes, and Cardiometabolic Risk: Metabolic syndrome, diagnostic evaluation beyond BMI, incretin-based therapies, and the impact of obesity management on lipids and ASCVD.
- Nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy: Dietary management in dyslipidemias, obesity, and overall cardiometabolic risk.
- Personalized Lipidology: Pharmacogenetics of statins, statin intolerance, and tailored therapeutic approaches.
- Advanced Lipid-Lowering and Safety of Very Low LDL-C: PCSK9 inhibition, novel therapies, combination treatments, and clinical safety of very low LDL-C levels.
